Iranian Instagram star Sahar Tabar did not like the taste of fame she got last week. After rumors swirled she had 50 plastic surgery procedures to look like actress Angelina Jolie, Tabar doubled her amount of Instagram followers. While she basked in the attention for a few days, Tabar ultimately deletes pictures, changed her name and claimed her page was hacked. She didn’t want anyone to follow her who wasn’t Iranian. Her page is now private.

“People of the foreign countries don’t follow me please,” she wrote on Saturday. “I only accept Iranian requests.”

She wrote the message in three different languages. “Hi friends of friends who are not from Iran,” Tabar penned. “I’m upset and I just want the Iranians to follow my page.”

The 22-year-old further claimed her page wasn’t authentic anymore: “This page has ben hacked. Unfollow as soon as you can because this page has too [many] viruses.”

Tabar used to have more than 20 images of herself online, but now only three remain. Her most recent picture doesn’t show her with the spooky features that made her famous.

She also deleted her profile image and changed her name to Parisa Amiri.

The Belgian news site Sud Info previously claimed Tabar had undergone “50 plastic surgery operations in just a few months” and had lost 88 pounds to look like Jolie. But according to Snopes, Tabar denied the report and said she used makeup to achieve her deranged exterior.

“Hello relatively dear followers, the picture that you’re scrutinizing, even though I didn’t like it, I kept it in … I must say I only had [indeterminate number of] surgery, not 50 surgeries, and foreign sites and channels were very biased in the way they talked about my photos,” Tabar supposedly said. “I thought these people are probably living in the 18th century and they haven’t seen or heard of technology or makeup and they are really surprised.”

Tabar also sported a skinny frame, which worried celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer. Newsweek contacted him after Tabar didn't respond to our request for comment.

He described Tabar’s look as “distorted,” saying malnutrition likely contributed to her surprising appearance.

“Most of the other distortion is from anorexia,” he told Newsweek on Friday. “She is clearly protein deficient, which causes the hallowing out of the temporal areas and cheeks—which gives a ‘skeleton’ look.”

More than anything, Salzhauer was concerned for her health—mentally and physically. “This women needs hospitalization, a feeding tube to increase protein intake and major intensive psychiatric therapy or she may die of starvation,” he said.
