10 celebrities who have gone to rehab in Arizona: Rush Limbaugh, Selena Gomez and more

Friday, 13 October 2017, 08:21:24 PM. Here's a list of celebrities who have gone through rehab in Arizona.

Maybe it's the dry heat that has earned Arizona a reputation as a great place to dry out. There are a handful of tony, high-end rehab places in the state. Sure, a week's stay may cost the same as a good used car, but when you're loaded, who cares?

Here are some of the stars who reportedly have dealt with their issues in the Grand Canyon State.

Selena Gomez

The singer's representative said that Gomez spent time at the Meadows in January 2014 "but not for substance abuse."

At the time, celebrity websites speculated she was either partying hard or heartbroken over her recent breakup with singer Justin Bieber.

But, Gomez told Billboard magazine in 2015 that she had undergone chemotherapy to treat lupus and needed a break. "I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotheraphy,' " she told the magazine.

Michael Douglas

The "Basic Instinct" star checked into Sierra Tucson in 1992. The tabloids said it was for sexual addiction; Douglas told Vanity Fair it was for alcohol and drug abuse.

Donatella Versace

After a 2005 stay at the Meadows in Wickenburg, the designer told Vogue that the desert landscape had inspired one of her collections.

Jesse James

After his marriage to America's sweetheart, Sandra Bullock, went bust in very public fashion in 2010, James headed on the highway to check into Sierra Tucson. TMZ broke the news of his Arizona stay.

The radio talker developed a problem with prescription pills, but the Meadows staff helped steer him right straight in 2003. "They treated him like everyone else," psychologist Steve Strumwasser told the New York Times.

Robbie Williams

What a way to celebrate your birthday: On Feb. 13, 2007, the colorful British pop star checked into Cottonwood de Tucson. It was his 33rd birthday, and the singer was grappling with an addiction to prescription drugs, MTV reported. Williams' spokesman later issued a statement saying he had completed the program after U.K. tabs reported that he had left early.

Naomi Campbell

The hotheaded supermodel with a notorious hang-up for flinging phones is a graduate of the four-week Rage Rehab program at Cottonwood de Tucson, Forbes reports. No date on the stay. Now, that's a diploma to hang on your wall.
