Producer Harvey Weinstein reportedly checking into Arizona rehab center

Friday, 13 October 2017, 08:22:18 PM. Harvey Weinstein, who was fired from his movie company over sexual-harassment allegations, has jetted to Arizona for treatment, TMZ reports.

The website TMZ has reported that producer Harvey Weinstein, who was fired from his movie company over allegations of sexual harassment, has jetted to Arizona for treatment.

The website posted a photo on Wednesday of what it said was Weinstein's SUV entering the Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles. The story initially said that Weinstein was to land in Wickenburg and be treated at The Meadows, a rehabilitation center.

A person who answered the phone at The Meadows would not confirm whether Weinstein or anyone else was a patient and then hung up.

The Meadows has treated many celebrities over the years, including singer Selena Gomez, model Kate Moss and radio host Rush Limbaugh.

As of Thursday morning, TMZ was reporting that unnamed sources said Weinstein was receiving treatment in the Scottsdale area.

Hollywood actresses such as Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ashley Judd have gone public with allegations of sexual harassment at the hands of Weinstein, an Oscar-winning producer who produced many critically acclaimed films at Miramax and The Weinstein Company.

The New York Times and New Yorker magazine both published stories detailing allegations of harassment dating back decades, exposing what some in the movie business had whispered privately about for years. The allegations follow a pattern: An actress was called into a private setting with Weinstein and he would ask for a massage, expose himself or demonstrate other inappropriate behavior.

The tail number from the plane TMZ said carried Weinstein was shown in the Federal Aviation Administration database to be registered to an Illinois company. That plane, according to the website FlightAware, took off from the Van Nuys airport at 5:40 p.m. with a destination of Wickenburg. But, according to FlightAware, it was diverted to the Scottsdale Airport, where it landed at 6:42 p.m.
