Rice University is auctioning off its owl mascot costume for more than $450

If you're looking for a slightly used Halloween costume next year for more than $400, Rice University has the getup for you.

The university is auctioning off its Sammy the Owl mascot costume used on campus from 2012-2017. The costume was retired after the university launched a new branding scheme.

"Suit is in good condition, and has been professionally cleaned. Costume will best fit a person from 5'7" to 6'1", approximately," the university wrote on its auction site.

The costume has received 10 bids as of 8 a.m. Thursday, with the last one for $470.

The auction is set to end 4 p.m. Dec. 8.

A request for comment has been placed with Rice University.
