Birmingham Winter Beer Festival on tap for 2018 with more than 150 craft brews

The Birmingham Winter Beer Festival is back on tap for its second year at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, Red Mountain Entertainment announced today. The Feb. 3 event, featuring more than 150 craft brews, is set for 3 p.m.-7 p.m. at the BJCC East Exhibition Hall. The agenda will include four beer gardens, live music, a "Brew University" with education seminars, a silent disco, karaoke, a photo booth, a cornhole tournament and more.  Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster, priced at $40 general admission, $75 VIP, plus service charges. The GA price will increase to $45 on Jan. 13, or whenever the allotment of early-bird tickets sells out, organizers said. GA admission bumps to $50 on the day of the festival. Under those same guidelines, VIP tickets will cost $80 starting Jan. 13, $85 at the door. All tickets include a commemorative sampling mug and 2-ounce samples of beers at the exhibition hall, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. North. VIP perks include early admission at 2 p.m., plus entry to a VIP area with free food and a selection of beers not available in other areas of the festival. Designated driver tickets cost $15 general admission, $25 VIP.
