Holiday cards are a long tradition for family and friends to share their life updates with their loved ones, but when kids get in the mix, things don't always go as planned.

Sometimes kids aren't in a picture-taking mood and they aren't too shy to not show it. They cry, they scream, and sometimes, they simply don't smile. While these meltdowns don't come out "picture perfect," a lot of the time they are hilarious.

So we are asking our readers to help us start a gallery of family holiday photos gone wrong for an online feature. Please email your family holiday card photos gone wrong to heather.leighton@chron.com with the subject line "Holiday card outtake" by midnight on Dec. 20.
