The Arizona Humane Society is searching for people to foster and adopt kittens from its Baby Bottle ICU, a 24/7 care facility for newborn felines.

At the ICU, the kittens are fed, cleaned, and monitored around the clock in preparation for adoption. The facility in Phoenix is run by staff members and volunteers who give their time to help take care of the kittens without families.

But overcrowding at the ICU means foster homes are needed for the kittens.

"We can provide you with all the care you need," said AHS spokesman Bretta Nelson. "All of the cats here today can go into a foster hero home that frees up space for us."

Bringing one home is as easy as completing a brief online tutorial and being selected to foster. The process is short and can be completed in as short as a day.

"We take on the spaying and neutering, the vaccinations, and we give them homes," Nelson said. "We just really need to free up space."

After they grow of age, the kittens can be adopted directly into a new home as foster families get priority in deciding whether to keep the kittens long term or give them back to AHS to be placed into another loving home.

You can foster one by visiting azhumane.org/get-involved/volunteer/ways-to-volunteer or by visiting your local Arizona Humane Society location.
