Cyclist killed in hit-and-run accident

Wednesday, 11 October 2017, 06:08:35 PM. A woman who was killed midday Saturday riding her bike when a car struck her and fled has been identified, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Tai'Sheonna Kennedy was riding northbound around 11:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of the East Sam Houston Parkway in the outside lane of the feeder road, the agency said. The 21-year-old was a struck from behind by a dark gray vehicle.

The 21-year-old was a struck from behind by a dark gray vehicle. Authorities have still not found the driver or the car responsible for the accident. Family and friends reacted over the weekend to the young woman's death. One wrote on Facebook, "such a beautiful soul, gone too soon," and another wrote, "I would sing you happy birthday and you'd be goofy and sing it back to me on mine ...as of now it will never be the same." A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car last month in Channelview, while another cyclist was shot and killed over the summer near Alief.
