Teenager killed, man wounded in drive-by shooting in Northwest Washington

A 16-year-old was fatally shot and a man was wounded Tuesday night when a gunman opened fire from a car speeding through an alley in Northwest Washington’s Brightwood neighborhood, D.C. police said. Police identified the victim as Yoselis Regino Barrios of Northeast Washington. Authorities had initially described the teenager as an adult. The wounded man was struck in the leg and was treated at a hospital. Police said the shooting occurred about 8:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street NW, a residential area two blocks west of Georgia Avenue and near Rock Creek Park Golf Course. Officers responded to the area after several people called 911 to report hearing gunshots. Bray wrote on an Internet bulletin board run by the police department that the injured man told investigators that he and his friend were walking in an alley on the south side of Rittenhouse Street.
