Women's college cross country: Johns Hopkins junior Ellie Clawson was named the USTFCCCA Mideast Region Athlete of the Year and coach Bobby Van Allen earned Mideast Region Women's Coach of the Year. Clawson led the Blue Jays to their 10th straight NCAA Mideast Regional Championship with a first-place time of 21 minutes, 17.8 seconds. Johns Hopkins will race for its fifth NCAA national championship team title Saturday 1 p.m. at Principia College in Elsha, Ill. Golden Arm Award: The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award candidates have been reduced to five of the country's top quarterbacks. Remaining candidates are: J.T. Barrett, Ohio State; Ryan Finley, North Carolina State; Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma; Trace McSorley, Penn State; and Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State.
