Center Will Clapp, edge rusher Arden Key, linebacker Devin White and freshman cornerback Greedy Williams were on the first team, released Monday. Running back Derrius Guice and receiver DJ Chark, for all-purpose, were representatives on the All-SEC second team.

Williams, who leads the league in interceptions, becomes the first LSU freshman to land on the AP All-SEC team since punter Brad Wing in 2011. Wing and Williams are the only two rookies to make AP All-SEC first team since 1986. Williams is the first LSU freshman defensive player to make an All-SEC coaches or AP All-SEC first team.

LSU's six All-SEC selections ties it with Florida, Auburn and Georgia for having the second-most picks. Alabama led all teams with 11.

Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson was picked as the offensive player of the year, while Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith was selected as the top defensive player.

Georgia's Kirby Smart got the nod as SEC coach of the year after leading his team to the College Football Playoff in just his second season between the hedges. Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham, a transfer from Baylor, and Georgia freshman quarterback Jake Fromm shared the award for newcomer of the year.

Alabama led the way with eight players voted to the first team.

AP All-American teams are scheduled for announcement next week. Guice and Key were preseason AP All-SEC first teamers, but both players have gone through injury-plagued junior seasons. A knee injury Guice suffered in preseason camp lingered into October, and Key missed four games this season.
