APS names three finalists for teacher of the year

Friday, 29 September 2017, 05:00:39 PM. Elementary, middle and high school teachers are honored by Atlanta Public Schools for the system's 'Teacher of the Year' award.
Atlanta Public Schools announced three teachers who are finalists for the district-wide Teacher of the Year.  The 2017-2018 Districtwide Teacher of the Year finalists represent elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Atlanta system. The teachers are nominated by their schools and will be recognized during an Oct. 25 award ceremony.  The finalists are: Atlanta Public Schools' Elementary School Teacher of the Year and APS Districtwide Teacher of the Year finalist Jennifer Lockwood is surrounded school and district officials and her third grade students after learning she was a finalist for the award.
