Epiphany students win first place at Christopher Columbus Scholastic Olympics

The students of Epiphany Catholic School in Miami won first place during the 39th annual Christopher Columbus Scholastic Olympics. Also, a team of eighth-grade students produced a news package on the Miami-Dade Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center community service project, and earned a gold medal at the Olympics and first place at the Florida Scholastic Press Association Fall Workshop. Cutler Bay High School Jayden Forrest, Lorena Gonzalez and Estheralice Lopez of Cutler Bay High School were named Posse Scholarship Finalists for their leadership, motivation to succeed and academic achievement. As Posse Scholars, each student receives a four-year scholarship to attend one of the program’s partner schools. Jayden and Lorena will attend Hamilton College, and Estheralice will attend Syracuse University. Scheck Hillel Community School Several students from Scheck Hillel Community School recently earned Academic Achievement in Psychology Awards from the American Psychological Association for excelling in their advanced placement psychology class. Sarah Benoliel, Raquel Dimitri and Matias Lancewicki scored the highest averages in their class, and now they’re preparing for the final exam. The students were recognized for the award by their teachers through the Teachers of Psychology in Secondary School, which allows teachers to recognize their top students.
