Houston man captures creepy video of teenagers trying to break into his home

Tuesday, 05 December 2017, 04:12:29 AM. A Houston family captured video of two teenagers trying to break into their home Sunday afternoon.

A Houston family narrowly avoided having their home broken into Sunday thanks to an alarm system they installed more than two years ago.

The video from Javier Zapata's home on the east side shows two teenagers attempting to destroy his home's front door security camera with a screwdriver around 2:35 p.m. when he and his family were out.

"Our alarm system which has a video camera it alerted us and manage to set up the panic alarm which made those two kids leave the premises," Zapata told Chron.com Monday morning. " [I was] scared because who knows what were their intentions and at the same time worried since I got a couple of girls knowing they could have seen or lived at that moment."

Zapata believes the two teenagers may be current or former students at North Shore High School. Nothing like this has ever happened to Zapata in the 10 years of living on the east side, he said.
